Custom Shop for Tesla ("the app") is built by an independent developer. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Tesla, Inc.
The short version
The app has no accounts, no ads, no analytics, and no tracking. Your dashcam footage, recordings, and designs stay on your device unless you explicitly export or share them. A small number of features send specific pieces of data off the device to work at all, and every one of them is listed below. Nothing is sold, rented, or shared with data brokers — ever.
What leaves your device, and why
1. Location (charger search and utility rates). When you use the charger map, the map's current center coordinates (or a route) are sent to Open Charge Map and the U.S. Department of Energy's NREL station API to find chargers near you. When you look up home electricity rates, a ZIP code is sent to NREL's OpenEI Utility Rate Database. These requests carry no other identifying information, are not stored by the app beyond the current session's results, and are never combined with other data. Location permission is optional — decline it and the map simply starts unpositioned.
2. Purchases. Pro subscriptions and the lifetime purchase are handled entirely by Apple through StoreKit. The app reads your entitlement status from Apple's systems to unlock features. It never sees your payment details, and it operates no server of its own to send purchase information to.
3. Community shares — only when you tap Share. If you choose to share a wrap, light show, or sound to the Community tab, that item (its file, the title you gave it, and basic metadata) is uploaded to a public Apple CloudKit database, where any user of the app can see it. Shared items travel with a random identifier (a UUID created on your device the first time you share) so your shares can be grouped and moderated. This identifier is not your name, email, Apple ID, or any account — the app has none of those — and the app never attempts to connect it to who you are.
4. Community reports. Reporting a shared item sends the item's identifier and your report reason. Reports carry no identifier of the reporter.
What never leaves your device
- TeslaCam / Sentry footage. The Clips features read footage from your USB drive in place. There is no code path that uploads footage anywhere. Exports go back to your own drive or the Files app.
- Your designs and recordings, by default. Wraps, shows, and sounds stay local unless you explicitly export them or share them to Community.
- Your block list. If you block a Community creator, that list is stored in your own private iCloud database, which only your devices, signed in as you, can access. The developer cannot read it.
- Everything else. No usage data, no diagnostics, no crash reports, no contact lists, no photos beyond the ones you deliberately import into a wrap.

The app contains no third-party SDKs — no analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting libraries of any kind.
Community content, moderation, and removal
Shared items are public by design. Every shared item can be reported in the app; one report hides an item immediately pending review. You can block any creator, which removes their content from your feed. To request removal of something you shared (or anything you believe violates the guidelines), email info@suttlesolution.com — the developer responds to moderation reports within 24 hours.
Data retention and deletion
The app keeps no server-side data about you other than items you explicitly shared to Community. Deleting the app deletes all local data. To delete your shared Community items, email info@suttlesolution.com from any address, identifying the items (a screenshot works), and they will be removed.
Children
The app is rated for ages 12/13+ due to user-generated content and is not directed at children.
Your choices
Location, camera, motion, and local-network permissions are each optional and can be changed any time in iOS Settings; each feature that needs one explains itself before asking. Under privacy laws such as the GDPR and CCPA you may request access to or deletion of personal data — as described above, the only personal data the developer holds is what you shared publicly, and the deletion route is the email above. The app does not sell personal information.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, the effective date above will change and the update will ship in the app's next release notes.
