How the timing works
A GPS speed reading arrives a few times a second, which means the exact instant a car crosses 60 mph almost never coincides with a sample. Custom Shop interpolates between the samples either side of the threshold rather than rounding to the nearest one, which is the difference between a number you can compare across runs and a number that jitters by a tenth every time.
Rest detection uses a small speed threshold rather than exact zero, because GPS noise means a stationary car reports small non-zero speeds — a timer that waits for a literal zero never arms.
